Wild rice processors typically process the green wild rice into finished wild rice products that are either sold in bulk to value-added processors or wholesalers or used in producing their own value-added products under their own labels.
The harvest in central Minnesota for 2011 is finished. This year's harvest was described in interviews as fair to poor due to higher water levels in particular during the spring, when the wild rice germinates.
